Course on Fundamental Theory of Neural Networks, 2022
PhD on Smart Computing
The course will introduce the main theoretical results available for neural networks with a focus on approximation, generalization and optimal learning theory. We will consider common architectures, e.g., multilayer perceptrons and recurrent neural networks, and some of the most recent models, such as convolutional networks and graph neural networks. The purpose is that of providing the students with the basic background to better comprehend the motivations that determinate the common practice in neural network applications.
The course will be held on the morning of September 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 20th.
The course will be in presence at the department of Information Engineering and Mathematics of University of Siena and online.
