Biography.


I was born on September 25, 1992 in Salerno, Italy.

I received the B.sc. degree cum laude in Ingegneria Gestionale from the University of Siena in 2014.

I received the M.sc. degree cum laude in Computer and Automation Engineering from the University of Siena in 2017 with a thesis entitled An Integrated MPC Approach for Demand-Response, HVAC and Storage Operation in Smart Buildings.

Since 2017 I am a Ph.D. Student at the Department of Information Engineering and Mathematics (University of Siena) under the supervision of Prof. Antonio Vicino and Prof. Marco Casini.

Research.


My research activity is current focused on:

Optimal control of HVAC systems in buildings

This research activity is focused on the development of a Model Predictive Control strategy to optimally manage the HVAC system, the storage devices (thermal and electrical) and the PV generation under thermal comfort and technological constraints. Building participation in a Demand-Response program is also considered.

Optimal energy management of Electric Vehicles charge

This research topic is focused on the development of techniques to address the problem of Electric Vehicles (EV) charge in a scenario where the connection time is uncertain. This scenario is relevant in the integration of a large number of EVs into the grid.
