Currently, I am Post-Doc at the Department of Information Engineering and Mathematics of the University of Siena.
My main research interests include robotic grasping and manipulation, human-robot collaboration, wearable haptics and educational robotics.

Organized Workshops

  • F. Negrello, V. Ruiz Garate, M. Pozzi, L. Pallottino, Human Factors in the design and control of robots: What are we missing), I-RIM 3D 2020, virtual event. Link. This workshop had the goal of raising awareness on the importance of considering human diversity (age, ethnic group, gender, disabilities, etc.) in the design and control of robots meant to interact with humans in their daily activities.

  • T. Lisini Baldi, M. Pozzi, M. Bianchi, D. Prattichizzo, TIGHT: Tactile InteGration between Human and arTificial systems, I-RIM 3D 2019, Rome, Italy. Link. This workshop discussed how new tactile communication paradigms can be exploited to increase the user's confidence in her/his collaborator, no matter if it is another connected human or a robot, and their mutual understanding.
  • M. Pozzi, V. R. Garate, M. A. Roa, Emerging paradigms for robotic manipulation: from the lab to the productive world, Robotics Science and Systems (RSS) 2019, Freiburg, Germany. Link. This workshop brought together research experts as well as representatives of companies to discuss how new approaches in the field of robotic manipulation can efficiently be transferred from the research labs to the productive world.
  • M. A. Roa, D. Prattichizzo, M. Malvezzi, M. Pozzi, Workshop on Evaluation and Benchmarking of Underactuated and Soft Robotic Hands, 2016 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS 2016), Daejeon, Korea, October 9-14. Link. The workshop aimed at looking for answers to the growing need of mathematical tools and shared standards in the emergent field of soft manipulation. In particular, it tackled the problem of finding innovative ways to evaluate grasps with underactuated and soft robotic hands.
