A brief biographical sketch
Alessandro AGNETIS was born in Rome in 1963, and graduated
in Electrical Engineering from the Università degli Studi di Roma "La
Sapienza" in 1987. He got a PhD
in Systems Engineering from the same University in 1992, where he became
Assistant Professor of Industrial Automation in 1994. In November 1998 he
joined the Università di Siena as Associate Professor of Operations
Research. He is Full Professor since 2001.
His main research interests concern combinatorial optimization models for
planning and scheduling problems, with applications in manufacturing and
logistics. He published over 80 papers on international scientific journals,
including Operations Research, Management Science, Mathematical Programming, Discrete Applied Mathematics, European
Journal of Operational Research, Information Processing Letters. He
is Associate Editor of Journal of Scheduling, IISE Transactions, 4OR. He
is the Director of the postgraduate program in Lean Healthcare Management.
